A German Minnenwerfer (trench mortar) captured by Marines during the fighting
at Belleau Wood, being towed back to a salvage station. The Marine at left,
holding a grenade in one hand and some hardtack in the other, is
Pvt Edwin Beach, of 23rd Company, 6th Machine Gun Battalion. The other Marines
are unidentified, though, in all liklihood, they are members of 23rd Company as
well.
