Fine. In new condition. Bound in yellow card & plastic coil binding. 7x8.5. No publisher information shown. May be a Marine Corps Association reprint edition. Original edition published in Titusville, Pennsylvania in 1943, softcover with 61 pages and 62 cartoons. The author, Cpl Charles Hedinger, served in the Intelligence Section of Heaquarters Company, 1st Marine Raider Battalion. He fought with the Battalion on Tulagi and Bloody Ridge as well as 1st and 2nd Mantanikau battles. The book was published through the assistance Captain William D. Stevenson was the Battalion Communications Officer for Edson's Raiders a plank owner in the Raiders and a veteran of the same battles as Cpl Hedinger. (Stevenson received Navy Cross for actions on the Ridge). Stevenson's father ran the Titusville Herald Newspaper, back in Titusville, Pennsylvania. The books were printed by special order for the men of the Raider Battalion and shipped to them in New Caledonia, where they were rebuilding after Guadalcanal. Some were shipped to family members, and can be identified by a stamp in the front of the book that reads "This book was sent to you by (Family Member's Name and Rank)" Cpl Hedinger and Captain Stevenson are both deceased.
