1917

Dec 31st - Disembark and entrain on III class cars. Leave St. Nazaire in evening.

1918

Jan 1st, 2nd, 3rd - Spent in train crossing France to Damblain. Very cold ride. Most of fellows had feet frozen. Allen lost off train.

1/1/ 1918 - Rode all day on train - iron rations, hot coffee at a French village.

1/2/ 1918 -- Still riding, rations issued at Is rur Tille (???).

1/3/ 1918 - [Kenneth] Allen missed train and left behind.
