The Descendents of Wilhelm Schwangau This site contains both family tree and pictures, which are interlinked: you can go from an individual in the family tree to his/her picture and vice versa. Start your tour at the index of names, from the common ancestor or at the list of pictures. Certain entries are followed by the image of a camera; clicking on the camera will take you to a photograph of that individual. If you came here from the Ancestors of Alpheus & America Appenheimer website, you can return by clicking the "Back" key on your browser until you arrive there. ![]() The drawing above depicts the Old Swedes Church in Wilmington, Delaware where, on March 24, 1760, Abraham Swango, eldest son of Wilhelm Schwangau, was married to Ailsie Pyle. They lived first in Frederick County, Virginia, then in Berkeley County, Virginia (in what is now West Virginia). During the Revolutionary War, Abraham served in the 1st & 2nd Battalions on the Frontier of Frederick County and Berkeley County. In 1783, Abraham, Ailsie and their family migrated through the Cumberland Gap into the newly-opened lands of Kentucky.
