Gunnery Sergeant Carl Harvey Horton, USMC

15th Co. 6th Machine Gun Battalion, #108343.
Son of Addison and Nancy Sharp Horton.
Born 10-13-1891 in Van Wert, Ohio. Moved to Miami County, Indiana in 1905. Athletic instructor.
Enlisted in USMC April 6, 1917, San Francisco, CA. Sent to Pensacola. FL then to Quantico, VA.
Overseas in June 1917, assigned to 15th Co., 6th MG Bn, 2nd Div. In combat service during campaign of 1917-18.
Died June 30, 1918 from wounds received in action. Died in Bordeaux, France.
Body returned to USA and buried in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Macy, Indiana.
