ROSTER
OF US MARINES, WORLD WAR I ERA, 1917-1919
Frank F. Lockman
Military
Personnel Research, Yucca Valley, CA, 1997. NEW. Blue card covers,
3-ring binder. Brief, mostly one-line entries (name, rank, serial number,
date enlisted, unit, year assigned to unit, casualty status & awards)
for 20,975 WWI-era Marines, 97% of whom were members of the 4th Brigade
(5th & 6th Regiments & 6th Machine Gun Battalion) of the 2nd Division,
AEF, which fought at Belleau Wood, Soissons, St Mihiel, Blanc Mont &
the Argonne. It was this brigade which, at Belleau Wood, galvanized the
broken morale of the Allies in last year of the Great War and established
the Marine Corps as a world-class fighting organization. This information,
available nowhere else in a single place, was compiled from numerous sources
over many years.
