Thomason was the most famous US Marine Corps author & artist, a veteran of Belleau Wood, and grandson of Longstreet's Chief of Staff. This particular copy is from the estate of Edward Allen Tamm, who was Deputy Director of the FBI in 1940. The book is inscribed to him by someone identified only as "Lester", who writes, "Please accept, as a small token of my esteem, this book from the pen of my friend John W. Thomason, Jr...." Inscription is dated 3/21/41. One of the scarcer Thomason titles.
