Petty Officer 3rd Class David J. Moreno, USN

The Department of Defense announced on July 18 that Petty Officer 3rd Class David J. Moreno, 26, Gering, Neb., was killed July 17 in Al Hamishiyah, Iraq, from a non-hostile gunshot wound.

Moreno was assigned to the Naval Medical Center San Diego, Fourth Marine Division Detachment. The incident is under investigation.
