Gunnery Sgt. Theodore
Clark Jr., USMC
Gunnery Sgt. Theodore Clark Jr., 31, of Emporia, Va.,
assigned to the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine
Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton,
Calif., was killed Aug. 4 when the vehicle in which he was a
passenger was struck by an improvised explosive device while
he was conducting combat operations near Gardez, Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Christopher P.
Lyons, USMC
Lance Cpl. Christopher P. Lyons, 24, of Shelby, Ohio,
assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th
Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Columbus, Ohio,
attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division,
II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), was
killed July 28 when his unit came under attack by enemy
small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades while
conducting combat operations in Cykla, Iraq.

Staff Sgt. Chad J.
Simon, USMC
Staff Sgt. Chad J. Simon, 32, of Madison, Wis., assigned to
the 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division,
Marine Forces Reserve, Madison, Wis.; died Aug. 4 in Madison,
Wis., while under hospice care for wounds sustained Nov. 8,
2004, in an explosion as he was conducting combat operations
in Babil province, Iraq.
