The Department of Defense announced on September 13 the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
1st Lt. Alexander E. Wetherbee, 27, of Fairfax, Va., died Sept. 12 from injuries received from enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Wetherbee was assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Pfc. Jason T. Poindexter, 20, of San Angelo, Texas, died Sept. 12 due to enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Poindexter was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
