Served in Co F, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 4th Brigade of Marines,
2nd Division, American Expeditionary Force. He served at Belleau Wood, Soissons,
St Mihiel, Blanc Mont. Wounded & gassed. Awarded Distinguished
Service Cross and Navy Cross for actions at Blanc Mont. Discharged with
rank of sergeant.
