VG/VG--. A bit of light sunning at top of spine, where two 1/4" pieces of jacket are missing (see picture). Spine is a bit concave. Small gift inscription (dated 1936) with original owner's signature on front flyleaf. Book otherwise tight and clean. Jacket has some light creasing and what appears to be very slight insect damage to rear panel. About 98% of jacket is present. Protected by mylar. (NY: Farrar & Rinehart, 1933). 4th Printing (same year as First Edition). Illustrated end pages. Illustrated throughout by drawings (both full-page & endpieces) by Paul Brown, who did the cover art.

Lowell Thomas was the famous correspondent who first brought Lawrence of Arabia to the attention of the world. The memoirs of the most famous, and notorious, Marine of them all, and the winner of two Medals of Honor. Butler was a veteran of nearly every Marine Corps campaign from 1898 until the 1930s. He served in Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, China, the Philippines, Haiti and France.
