Del Valle served in Haiti, Santo Domingo, on the USS Texas, the USS Wyoming, did two tours in Nicaragua, served in the Cuban Revolution of 1933-34, commanded the 11th Marines (artillery regiment of the 1st Marine Division), commanded the Artillery of the 3rd Amphibious Corps on Guadalcanal and Guam, and commanded the 1st Marine Division during the Okinawa Campaign. This is a fairly scarce title, especially in this condition.
