Cpl. JOHN D. STARK, USMC

Served as member of the so-called "Well-Known 13th Gun Crew" at Quantico, under (then) Sgt Vernon Bourdette (see photo below). Appears on 81st Company roster, dated 15 March, 1918, while battalion was in the Bourmont Training Sector. Wounded in action at Soissons. Died of wounds on July 28. Buried Plot B, Row 8, Grave 29 in the Suresnes cemetery near Paris.
