This is a reprint of the Official History of the U.S. Marine's assault on Tinian Island, which was separated by only 3 miles from Saipan, in the Northern Marianas. The invasion began on July 24th, 1944, and was completed in 9 days by elements of the 2nd & 4th Marine divisions. Originally published in 1951 by the USMC Historical Branch.
